We are seeking a dedicated Ranch Hand to join our team and contribute to the daily operations of our ranch and farm. Job Overview: The Ranch Hand will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our cow/calf ranch and farm. The ideal candidate will have some experience working as a ranch hand but will also be eager to learn and develop technical skills related to the position. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work well within a team are essential qualities for this role. Key Responsibilities: • Animal Care: Assist in the daily care and management of cattle, including feeding, watering, monitoring health, and assisting with calving. • General Ranch Duties: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fences, gates, and equipment. Assist with branding, vaccination, and other cattle management activities. • Farm Operations Support: Assist with various farming activities as needed, including planting, harvesting, and equipment operation. • Flexibility: Adapt to the changing demands of ranch and farm operations, including being on-call during critical periods such as calving season. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the ranch, maintaining open communication and a cooperative attitude. • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain tractors, ATVs, and other ranch equipment safely and efficiently. • Record Keeping: Assist with maintaining accurate records related to cattle inventory, health records, and other essential data. Qualifications: • Experience: Previous experience as a ranch hand is preferred. Experience with cow/calf operations is a plus. • Willingness to Learn: We will provide training for the technical aspects of the role, but a basic understanding of ranch operations is required. • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions. • Flexibility: Must be able to adjust to changing priorities and work demands, including irregular hours. • Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. • Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required. Experience operating tractors and other farm equipment is a plus.
