Description:
The Sands Ranch, located in Whetstone, AZ, is one of several ranches under the care of Vera Earl Ranch, Inc. This is a fast paced, highly diversified operation that calls for a self-starter who does not require daily supervision or task lists. The position is responsible for taking care of approximately 30,000 acres of land and 400 cows, depending on the time of year, as well as helping with other portions of the ranch, when necessary. In addition, position must also maintain stock wells, tank, and generators. Strong problem solving skills, as well as both verbal and written communication, are extremely important.



As with any working ranch, the hours and days vary dependent up on the time of year, however, expect long hours, 6 days per week.



Benefits are offered, with many opportunities for advancement within the company.



REQUIREMENTS:



Skilled in horsemanship

Proficient in calving heifers

Able to work both independently, and as a team

Capable of keeping accurate records, including, but not limited to: feed, cattle/pasture movements, and equipment usage

Basic understanding of range management and pasture rotations

Clean driving and criminal record

Valid driver’s license



PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:



Ability to operate and drive a cattle pot

Ability to operate heavy machinery



BENEFITS INCLUDE:

- Health insurance, following 90 day probationary period
