Description:
Cody is the perfect kids horse and family horse. 100% safe, trustworthy, and sane, exactly what a kids horse should be. He is a 15 year old gelding, 14.3 hh and really well built. We have owned Cody for nearly a year, and my boys have stepped up to different horses now, so he is looking for a new kid to take care of. He has never done anything wrong in all the time we’ve owned him, and has no bad habits. He has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, take off, hasn’t run them under a tree, or tried to rub them off on a fence. Cody is such a gentleman and a pleasure to be around. He can sit for months, then get saddled up and go ride without needing to be warmed up or worrying about getting bucked off. He will really take care of the kiddos on his back, and is very cautious about where he goes or how quickly he moves when he knows there is a little one riding him. Before we got him Cody had been used on the ranch and had roped steers, and was being ridden by a 12 year old boy. My boys are 5 and 8 and I have always felt completely comfortable with them riding him out in the pasture on their own. Cody is not 100% sound, but he is perfectly capable of walking and trotting in the arena and out in the pasture, going up and down hills, and going on trail rides. He has a bump on his left knee, and will lope if really pushed, but prefers not to. But he also will not go fast enough to scare a child, which I like. Cody has excellent ground manners, stand quietly tied, is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. He gets along with all other horses, prefers to live outside vs in the barn, and is a very easy keeper. He will ride out alone as well as with a group. Cody has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Asking $2,500. Call Wendy for more information at 210-363-1883.
