This is a tough mare that can and will go ALL DAY. She can cover some serious ground at an extended trot and is very comfortable to lope out on. Training: Started as a 3 yr old as a Reiner and has all the buttons. This spring spent 60 days in the ranch string at the Lytton’s in Polson calving, doctoring, tying off, and heeling. Has roped live cattle in the heeling (not yet out of the box) and started roping the dummy out of the box for breakaway. Can be used to pony colts, lead a pack string, and pull supplies in the mountains Extremely handy, stops hard, very nice to ride PROS: Horse Shows ✨Been used in random fun shows over the past 4 years in halter, showmanship, horsemanship, equitation, and ranch horse classes. Almost always wins the halter and always places in top 3 in the other classes. Pack Trips ✨Has been on numerous multi-night pack trips leading the mule string and just riding along. Has done 18+ mile days and will cross water, rope and fixed bridges, logs, you name it. Comfortable with chainsaws and machinery. Has been on a high line and treed. She is hobble broke and we recommend hobbling while tied overnight in the mountains. Will ride off alone or in a group, but will nicker a little bit when leaving CONS: This mare has her quirks. This is not a horse that can be left to sit and step back on with no issue. If you leave her out all winter, and pull her in the spring, she will be difficult to catch and will be cold backed. Guaranteed every time. And it’s best to catch her in a smaller pen, especially if she has had a few days off. she has been vetted, had chiropractic work, new saddle pads, different saddles etc. without finding any faults and she will be the same regardless She will throw fits. She needs a calm and firm hand. She enjoys having an established set of clear rules - this is what we do and what we don’t do. And this needs to be reinforced immediately, especially if she throws a fit. This mare can and will get worried about things. The key is to manage her but manage her QUIETLY - does not do well with nervous riders/handlers. Every once in awhile she will pull back if she gets spooked or if she gets saddled and tightened up right away. It’s best to saddle her and leave a loose front and rear cinch until she walks out, then tighten her up. If you suck her up immediately and walk out or step on, she will buck, or if you leave her tied she might jump forward and then set back. This mare is very athletic and that athleticism comes out when she reacts to something. Some days she will spook or look at things, other days she won’t. She can buck you off and when she does you can step back on, and ride off with no problem for the rest of the day. She’ll get agitated after working too much on one thing in the arena - she’s a get it right and be done with it kind of horse Roping dummy and steers available to try her on.
