Horses like this one don’t come up for sale very often. If you have been looking for a true ranch gelding, one who has been used on the ranch and broke the right way, with all the fancy buttons and no bad habits, and one that is gentle and sound, then take a look at Eagle. He is an extremely good looking 16 year old gelding, 15.1hh with a big hip and beautiful head and neck. Eagle has been on one ranch pretty much his entire life, and was only sold because the man who owned the ranch had gotten to where he was no longer riding and didn’t want his horses wasting away in the pasture. He has been used for all phases of ranch work, including dragging calves, doctoring cattle out in the pasture, sorting pairs, and ponying colts. Eagle is so much fun to ride, and never pops his tail, gaps his mouth, or throws his head. He is very broke, with an excellent neck rein, a good stop, and he will spin, sidepass, and work a gate. He makes it all look easy, too, so even a less experienced rider can show off on him. Eagle would be excellent for a weekend warrior who wanted a nice, safe horse to throw out on his ranch and check cows with on the weekends, but he is also suitable for someone wanting to ride more often. He has plenty of life lift, is sound and healthy, and loves to work. Eagle has been taught to travel out and cover some ground, he crosses water without a problem, and he will go up, over, or through anything you point him at. He has a smooth trot and an amazing rocking horse lope. Eagle is content to walk quietly all day long but will easily trot and lope when asked. He has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, is perfect for the shoer, and gets along great in a herd. He has a bump on the front of his left front ankle, but it has been with him a long time and does not cause any pain or soundness issues. Asking $6,500.
