Description:
Cruz is a GORGEOUS titled 2016 BLM mustang gelding from the Salt Wells Wyoming HMA. He is 14.2H and very stocky with great conformation and exceptional bone and feet. He was gathered as a yearling and adopted and gentled as a 3 year old.

Cruz is a pleasure to be around. He has great ground manners and is friendly without being pushy. He gets along very well with other animals and horses. He is not alpha and prefers to mind his own business. He does well both in a pasture environment or in a barn (with daily turnout of course). He is an easy keeper, goes great barefoot, and has never had any health or soundness problems.

Cruz has been under saddle for several years. However, he hasn’t had very much consistent training so I’d say under saddle I would consider him green broke. He is not a spooky or reactive horse, and does well with obstacles. He is more on the lazy side, more whoa than go, but he has been learning to respond to light aids and has progressed well.

He does have a habit of being barn sour and will test his rider unless he respects them. He does very well with my husband, who is a confident and experienced team roper and cowboy. His ideal future owner is confident and assertive. With these types of riders he is a dream. I would love to see him go to a ranching home. He would make the absolute perfect working RANCH HORSE and if my husband had the time to finish him or a need for another horse, he would do that. Unfortunately he doesn’t have the time and our need is for a kids horse at this time.

He has ridden through cattle, crosses water, and walks out nicely. He is sure footed in terrain as well. And bonus he is extremely comfortable with a super smooth trot and lope.

The first 4 images were just taken but I included the last one from 1.5 years ago in his beautiful summer coat.
