Description:
Looking to sell a pair of vintage August Buermann spurs. These spurs are circa 1868-1926 and are made of brass (looks like white brass) and are STAR marked. They feature a silver "Texas Rangers 1823" medallion on the outside and they have a 3.5 inch heel and a 10 point rowel. The leather straps are in good condition and feature a brass Texas badge concho and a silver engraved spur strap tip stamped "Mexico Sterling" and include a makers mark. The inside of each strap is stamped with the initials "DB".



The story behind these straps is that these were purchased from a gun store estate as the owner had a gun shop in the 1960’s in North Carolina and he passed away. He had several hat badges, belt buckles, and holsters, all with the Texas Rangers medallions on them. These spurs were some of the last of those items and since the owner is deceased, there is no way to provide any provenance that these were even affiliated with the Texas Rangers at one time. You decide!



They are in what I would call very good vintage condition with some signs of wear. The intricate designs and detailing on these spurs are a testament to the high-quality craftsmanship that was prevalent during this time period. That has allowed them to last this long. If you are a fan of Western Americana or are looking to add a unique piece to your collection, these antique spurs are a must-have.
