Description:
Me: Dependable, responsible, hard-working, honest, cleancut guy willing to relocate for the right position. Single, no kids, no pets, no debt, no smoking/booze/drugs/BS. Easy going attitude but I take work seriously, not a slacker, loyal, and want to learn as much as I can during my time working for you. I’m smart and have good judgment. Raised with excellent work ethic, solid values, respect for others, and good manners. I keep my home tidy and I will not manhandle your horses or equipment. Only about a year of ranching experience but I’ve learned a lot and have gained more confidence in the following: irrigation (pivots, wheel lines, hand lines, flood, ditches, dams), some haying (mainly raking/tedding/stacking), moving cattle, working cattle, gathering, trailing, branding, pregging, loading/shipping, fence repair, hotwire setup/breakdown, spraying, basic equipment servicing, facility/grounds upkeep, etc… Some experience with calving, sick checks, doctoring, and feeding but ready to do more this winter. Still a novice on horseback but making steady progress and would like to learn to rope this year. *Interested in learning more about AI but not required.



You: Cow/calf outfit (no equine facilities please), progressive philosophy but with respect for tradition, good local reputation, hard-working/motivated employer, high plains or intermountain west, at least some cattle work on horseback, belief in mutual respect, willingness to help teach and develop a new hand, willing to provide one day off per week outside of the busiest periods.



Other stuff: Can work independently on some jobs but do still require some oversight and guidance with other tasks; because of this I’m willing to work for a very reasonable wage. I thrive in an environment where I can be involved and immersed in the operation because this is the fastest way to learn. I want to work with folks who see the opportunities in each new day and have a generally positive approach to work and life. I’d be happy to work with you for a trial period before you make a commitment to hire.
