Position -----Assistant Ranch Manager Location ---- South Texas Salary ------Around $68K/yr or more DOE with a minimum of 10-15 years experience required Benefits ------Very competitive benefit package Ranch Type --- Wildlife/Cattle/Private Guest Housing is NOT provided--Salary compensates for this Job Summary: The Assistant Ranch Manager has responsibilities including, but not limited to the following: implementing safety policies -- developing wildlife populations--developing wildlife habitats -- aiding in the development of ranch personnel -- inventory management -- budgeting -- and more. JOB FOCUS is to support the improvement of the wildlife habitat and wildlife populations on a company owned ranch as well as support its ongoing business of providing an excellent experience for ranch guests. The Assistant Ranch Manager will be located in south TX and works under the day to day direction of the Ranch Manager. Primary Job Functions: Ensure that ranch operations are in conformance with all company environmental, health, and safety requirements: actively supports and participates in the company safety, health, and environmental management system Supporting the Ranch Manager to train and mentor ranch personnel in day to day operations including routine maintenance, new project development. Provide supervision to the staff in the absence of the Ranch Manager Monitor and control wildlife populations Develop and execute wildlife and habitat research project(s) for the betterment of the ranch and the greater good of wild places management Ensure company’s compliance with state wildlife regulations and requirements Assure compliance with delegation of authority, controls, and operations integrity management standards and requirements Develop and maintain key performance indicators and metrics for supported operations Job Requirements: B.S. in Wildlife Biology (similar/related field acceptable) or equivalent experience Previous related work experience in ranch operations: wildlife management, fire ecology, mechanical habitat manipulation, chemical habitat manipulation, general farming techniques, general construction, facilities maintenance, equipment use, basic accounting, and contract administration Willing and able to work 80 hrs per week during high season; flexible and adaptable to various working and living conditions Ability to quickly and efficiently manage a constantly evolving work environment in a remote location Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders Proficiency in use of computers and possesses excellent administrative and organizational competencies Proven ability to manage short deadlines, emergency situations, extreme remoteness, lack of infrastructure Demonstrate competency with various software applications, including, but not limited to: GIS, word processing, spread sheet, photo manipulation, and video manipulation Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: M.S. in Wildlife Biology or similar/related field Supervisory and managerial experience Strong analytical and communication skills If you ARE qualified, and interested in this job, please go to farmranchpersonnel.com and fill out ALL 3 forms under the Job Seekers tab.
