In this role, they would communicate with, visit and manage relationships with assigned backgrounders to ensure an understanding of our feeding, animal health, and processing protocols. This is a great position for someone with experience analyzing production data and looking for a position with a mixture of field and office time. This position is based out of our office in Broken Bow, Nebraska. This person will be responsible for: Managing ALCC cattle in the backgrounding network in a manner that promotes profitability and sustainability. Effectively identifying and resolving concerns associated with feed commodities and cost to promote a competitive cost of gain. Providing necessary resources and communication to prevent, identify, and resolve animal health concerns. Developing new backgrounding relationships that provide opportunities for future growth. Assisting with prospecting with references, prospect forms, site visits, and training associated with the prospecting process. Ensuring all ALCC tasks and processes are completed to monitor, coordinate deliveries, and process payments for each backgrounding location. Providing clear and constant feedback to the procurement and backgrounding teams to drive strategy. Providing clear expectations to Backgrounding operations and providing timely feedback. Backgrounding work fluctuates seasonally, therefore coordinators are expected to be available to help cattle operations as needed in areas he or she is properly trained and qualified for. Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications: Must be able to work in a high pressure and high volume environment. Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and prioritize effectively. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Knowledgeable of different cattle types. Ability to access cattle quality and health. Strong interest or background in the livestock industry. Ability to travel as required. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Bachelor’s degree; 2 years of related experience may be substituted with an Associates; 4 years of related experience may be substituted with a High School Diploma or GED. This position requires: Up to 50 lbs waist high, up to 5% of the working hours. Sitting up to 90% of the day. Stairs up to 20% of the day. Standing up to 100% of the day. Use of telephone, computer, and other basic office equipment is required daily, up to 100% of the day. Driving a vehicle up to 100% of the day. Hearing, listening, speaking, and seeing are required up to 100% of the working hours. Stationary working at a computer: Up to 90% of working hours.
