Must have extensive horse experience. Full-time live on property. Property is 23 acres in the Woody Creek, Colorado at an elevation of 7470’. This position will require both livestock and land management skills including the following: o Daily feeding / watering and caring for approximately o 5 horses, exercise daily and groom o 3 Babydoll Sheep o 12 dogs o 40 chickens o 2 mini horses, 1 mini donkey and 2 mini goats Cleaning Barn, stalls, chicken coops, dog runs and paddocks daily o Coordinating all periodic and emergency veterinary services as needed o Field irrigation and management of 16 acres of hay field inclusive of maintaining and relocating big gun operations. o Managing site water sources from Salvation ditch, Little Woody Creek, a spring and 2 wells o Maintaining approximately 5000 linear feet of fencing on the property o Snowplowing in winter with owner provided equipment as well as shoveling paths o Maintaining 4 Outbuildings, 1 Main Horse Barn, 1 Homestead Cabin in orderly and clean condition. o Overseeing maintenance and monitoring of 1 Victorian “guest” residence. o Coordinating and overseeing with well vendors periodically to maintain wells accordingly. o Coordinating and overseeing all yard maintenance and tree maintenance vendors o Coordinating all site deliveries and materials needed to professionally manage the property o Scheduling all yearly inspections required by Pitkin County for fire protection systems and sewage treatment systems. o Develop a systematic maintenance check of all mechanical systems on the property o Put out trash on Tuesdays plus remove any trash from all structures o Maintaining all site equipment (tractor, Polaris, irrigation equipment, irrigation dams, etc) o Coordinating repairs of all site equipment as required o Homeowner personal needs such as shuttling vehicles to airport, grocery pick up, child pick up, help unloading vehicles, etc.. At owners disposal. Compensation: Position comes with a furnished residence on site (Homestead Cabin) that is approximately 650 sqft with kitchen, full bath, heat and sleeping loft. Salary rate is requested and to be reviewed during interview. Salary payment will be paid bi-monthly. Accounts with local vendors will be setup though out of pocket expenses incurred for the property will be reimbursed. Some days or seasons will require more time than others, so flexibility of time is understood. Paid vacation time will be 1 week per year for the first year and negotiated from there.
