Description:
Our North Central Montana ranch is currently looking for two people interested in attaining a full time horse trainer / ranch hand position. Our Quarter Horse program runs in conjunction with our sizeable commercial cow, calf and yearling operation. We are a diverse, remote mountain ranch located approximately 40 miles from the town of Havre, MT.



We are looking for two new people to join our current horse program staff and train horses at the following levels: some halter breaking of weanlings, starting two year olds under saddle, training ranch gelding replacements and finishing sale horses. This position would also include but is not limited to some of the following: checking for herd health, feeding, helping foal out mares, cleaning stalls and corrals, fitting sale horses, wrangling, some doctoring, trailering horses, and everyday barn cleanup. This position would also participate in many cattle related tasks such as calving chores, brandings and driving cattle to pasture. Ranch maintenance such as fencing, fixing water troughs and changing oil in vehicles is also a small part of theses jobs. We are only interested in folks with previous horse training experience for which they can provide references. Applicant(s) must be a detail oriented person who is capable of, or learning to, complete all of the above tasks. Applicant(s) must be comfortable with living and working in a rural ranch environment about an hour from the nearest town.



We are looking for two people to work as part of a team in which everyone will be expected to take a share in both riding / training responsibilities, as well as everyday ranch chores.

All applicants must currently have a valid driver’s license. All applicants must be capable of lifting heavy objects (i.e. bales of hay, shavings and bags of grain.)



Compensation includes a competitive salary commensurate with experience, housing, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement, paid vacation, beef and more. Housing includes heat, water and electricity paid for.
