“Smoke” is a very special gelding to me. He is one that I look forward to riding every time I catch him out of the pasture. He is always eager to please and has one of the most trainable minds on a horse that I’ve come across to date. Smoke is an incredibly smooth and fluid mover. His short back and balanced build makes for smooth gates and easy transitions. He is extremely well trained and carries himself as one should. He catches both leads with ease and lopes beautiful collected circles, stops correct and turns around low headed and correct. But Smoke is more that just a pretty face and a smooth ride. He has a lot to offer to a wide range of disciplines. Smoke is not a horse that you have to be a cowboy to ride. He is gentle and very easy to get along with for any age or ability level of rider. He would suit a trail or family horse home just as well as he would a ranch, rope or barrel horse home. He would also excel as a rodeo queen horse as he would excel at horsemanship patterns and is unfazed by banners and flags. Smoke is quiet and steady on the trail. He does not balk or spook and is always as reliable as I can ask for when we are out on the ranch in the swamp and brush gathering cattle. Along with trail riding and using him out on the ranch I have also done an array of things with him. I have sorted cattle, been tracking the heel-o-matic and patterning him on the barrels. No matter what you wish to pursue you’re guaranteed to be well pleased with his performance. He is coming along well on the heel-o-matic and ready to start on live cattle. He is well patterned on the barrels and is loping a smooth and clean pattern while starting to add some speed. I have started hauling him to exhibition him and he doesn’t blink an eye at any of the sights away from home. He drinks well on the road, isn’t anxious and is the same horse no matter the location. Smoke sells to be absolutely sound and gentle. He is barefoot with good solid black feet and is a very easy keeper. He is easy to catch in a big pasture, however in a pasture setting he is at the top of the pecking order. He ties, trailers and bathes like a gentleman. PPE welcome at buyers expense.
