If you are looking for a horse that is safe for the entire family, one you can use on the ranch but also trust with the kids and guests, then take a look at Rojo. He is a nice, quiet sorrel gelding with lots of chrome, 15 hh and 17 years old. Rojo is gentle, quiet, and good minded, and will take good care of his rider, and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off. He stays gentle even if not ridden regularly. He had been on one ranch out in West Texas his entire life until we bought him, and has had to work for a living nearly his entre life. Rojo has been used for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, roping sheep and goats, dragging calves to the fire, and checking fence. He is sure footed, very careful where he steps, and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. Rojo is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and nothing bothers him or spooky him. He has a good handle and stop, a very smooth trot you could sit to all day long, and a comfortable lope. He will sidepass, work a gate, drag logs, and carry a flag. Rojo is very easy to catch, can be ridden by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. Whether you want to use him on the ranch, ride him on trails, or let the grandkids ride him on the ranch with grandpa, he has the mind and disposition to do it. Asking $4500. Rojo has a lump under his jaw, an enlarged thyroid gland, but we have had him looked at by a vet and it is purely cosmetic. It does not affect his eating, breathing, or riding ability.
