Description:
We are a family operation looking for a self-motivated person for full-time ranch employment to oversee and perform the ranching and farming operations of our approximately 7,000 acres of mixed-use ground ranches in Grant County. Our emphasis is currently on hay and alfalfa production. Our ranch locations are near Mount Vernon Oregon and John Day Oregon yet are large enough to feel like they are very remote. This makes for more housing opportunities close to the ranches, more work opportunities for your spouse as well as schools nearby. This position has a lot of room for growth.



Compensation/Benefits:

Salary Starting at $50,000.00 annually.

Production Bonus – Typically $2,000 to $10,000 annually depending on production.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Ranch Truck



Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a great attitude, be honorable, self-motivated, can multi-task, can work alone and is highly organized. We are looking for someone with at least 4 years of experience with hay/alfalfa production and cattle operations. Valid drivers license. Education is a huge plus.



General Responsibilities:

Manage irrigated ground to maximize production.

Irrigate with pivots, wheel lines, handlines, and flood.

Run haying/farming equipment (i.e., swather, rake, baler, loading, disc, seeder, etc.)

Run excavators and backhoes (i.e., diverting water, cleaning ditches, maintaining roads, etc.)

Perform minor mechanical repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues.

Maintain equipment and facility.

Manage cattle and tend to them as needed.

Maintain and build fences.

Complete and/or oversee general projects.



Preferred:

Higher education

CDL

Experience Mechanic/welder
