Description:
Family owned and operated cattle and hay operation in Northern California currently seeking a working ranch manager in Modoc County. Fall calving cows are shipped up in April and return to the valley in November. Ranch also grows and harvests grass hay for retail sale. Applicant must be self-motivated and self-sufficient performing daily activities. Previous ranching experience required.



Job Duties

• Maintaining and operating center pivot irrigation

• Operate farm equipment including backhoe, hay rakes, balers, and hay squeeze

• Some spring spraying controlling weeds on range ground.

• Maintaining fences, gates, corrals

• Cattle health and wellness

• Calving fall cows, tagging calves, and vaccinations

• Performing light maintenance, oil changes and servicing equipment and vehicles

• Maintain a clean working environment, shop, machines, and farmyard



Skills and Experience

• 5 years of production ag experience required

• Knowledge and capability to operate equipment safely for yourself and the machine

• Ability to work with others troubleshooting, building, or repairing the task at hand

• Willing to put in long hours during hay season

• Ability to manage time, travel, and make a plan for the job at hand

• Valid Drivers License



This is a full-time position. Competitive salary, excellent housing, health insurance, 401K, beef.
