If you want a horse that will turn heads everywhere you take it, one that you can show off on while knowing he will keep you safe, then take a look at Duke. He truly is a gentle giant, loves people and attention, and doesn’t have a mean bone in his entire 1500 pound body. He is by far the neatest horse we have ever owned, and the first one people notice when they come to our ranch. Duke is an 8 year old black and white paint Clydesdale gelding, 16.3 hh with amazing markings. He has very kind eyes and a kind, forgiving nature, and has been ridden by everyone from 3 years old to 80. Duke has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, and has absolutely no bad habits. He is excellent for the farrier, will catch you when you go out to his pasture, stands quietly tied, and even with his size is very respectful of small humans. He has been ridden both English and Western, has done obstacles, and has seen miles and miles of trails and different ranches. Duke rides just as quiet in a new place as he does at home, and he stays gentle even if not ridden regularly. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He has one of the smoothest trots I have ever sat, a nice rocking horse lope, and knows his leads. Duke will easily trot or lope when asked but will never go any faster than you ask him to. He has very good steering, a nice stop and back up, and will even open gates. He can be ridden by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group.
