Despite all the jokes, it’s a good thing Richard is this massive, because he needs it all to carry his big heart! Here’s a pure sweetheart of a guy who has every intention of doing right by you day in and day out.



There isn’t a person who we’ve put on him that hasn’t walked away wearing a smile. He’s a larger than life huggable teddy bear!



At 12 years old, all the nonsense has been washed away, and you’re left with the honest, dependable horse everyone truly needs. Want to ride out by yourself? Go for it! Want to separate from the group and blaze your own trail? Richard is all about it. We really haven’t found a resistant bone in his body. He is up for any adventure you can think up.



When the day came for one of my lesson kids to go to their first show, Richard got the call. Bless his heart, he did everything in his control to keep her safe and ignored all the craziness that accompanies a county fair! Strangers wanting to pet horses, napkins blowing across the arena, strollers bouncing through the grass, not to mention the chaotic horses he politely ignored. I needed a true babysitter that day, and he 100% delivered!



Richard can handle time off with no issue whatsoever! He will saddle up and ride off as if you’d been on him the day before, even if months have passed in between. Chip the ice off his back, throw your saddle on and pull the kids on the sled. He loves the giggles just as much as they love his willingness to turn our winter tundra into a wonderland.



Richard is the reason you have to build confidence, he is the same horse every single day. His steady cadence and rocking chair lope make it easy to get in rhythm.
