Description:
We are a family of four, myself, my husband and our son and daughter ages 6 and 7. We are looking to the future, long term; a home, a career, and the ability to grow. We are looking for the ranch position that will value us, and our knowledge, and honesty! We have worked on a few ranches that seemed picture perfect but in time found that we were not valued, the honesty and integrity was stretched, and the animal husbandry was total chaos! We value what we have learned from these experiences and “live and learn”. We have met some amazing people, seen beautiful country, and are ready to take the time to find that long term position! We do come with 3 mares, and 4 dogs. The mares are an older ranch mare that is still usable and worth her weight in gold, a paint bridal mare, and a 15 year old green broke mare (no fault of her own). Lets not forget the dogs, my husband has one decent work dog, we have one tractor loving dog, the kids little aussie dog which had an accident puppy, yes only one thankfully, that as much as I say we are not keeping is an unrealistic thought. All our dogs are very well mannered, they are not aggressive, we do not tolerate the continuous barking, we have complete control over them when working, with a good down.

Now I may be biased, after all he is my husband, but Steve is more than capable of managing cattle and a ranch. He has the knowledge, the experience, and the work ethic. I will touch lightly on all that is great about Steve and his past work history, of course we are happy to dive deeper into boasting about ourselves, if we sound like a good match. Steve has ranched and cowboyed his entire life, growing up on his grandfather’s horse ranch, where respect, hard work ethic and loyalty was expected. Steve not only day worked in his younger years, he also ran heavy equipment for a construction company that built and maintained forest and logging roads. To this day a pet peeve of Steve’s is the maintenance of driveways and dirt roads. Steve is capable of the day to day maintenance of the equipment and can mechanic well enough to fix minor breakdowns. To add to the heavy equipment operating, Steve has also done farm work, including haying, along with land leveling. Let’s see, Steve has also done his fair share of welding, building pipe corrals and fencing, along with loading chutes, he will admit he is not the prettiest welder, but his welds hold and get the job done. Now to dive into the passion of ranching. Steve has managed several smaller ranches in the past 10 years. One of the main ranches Steve managed was a herd of roughly 150 pairs on two different properties, the home ranch which was flood irrigated pasture with some winter ground, and a lease of winter ground. Steve was responsible for all aspects of the cattle, including the land management, calving, breeding and genetics, culling, vaccinating / doctroing, branding, and marketing. Steve also managed 300 Charolais pairs while they were turned out on the winter ground. Here he calved, doctored, shipped, land management, and branding. Steve has also worked a couple months in Idaho helping calve out over 3000 head, calving that many in such a short amount of time you are bound to see every complication and wreck imaginable. Currently we are working on a specialty breed ranch of 300 head, where we have dug deeper into genetics, AI and even embryo transfers. Steve is beyond experienced, he can work with others or by himself, he is handy enough, with his good dog and trusty horse to gather, sort, and doctor on his own. Steve can manage a small crew and direct to the areas that need attention, he can fix fences, he is all around handy and experienced to say the least. I am sure I am forgetting something, and once again we are happy to dive deeper into any areas of interest or concerns.

As for myself, I am looking to be a part of the ranch along with the involvement of our kids. We are very family oriented and want our kids to grow up with the knowledge and lifestyle that we were lucky enough to have. I am knowledgeable and experienced with livestock as well, along with a little experience in running a tractor and some haying implements (I am very novice in this area but I’m comfortable and know I could learn and adapt quickly), along with computer skills and a college education in Business Management. To dive into myself, I grew up more in the farm world, where we had every farm animal imaginable. I have worked as a beekeeper, managing the queen yard, and also for the livestock sale yard, and caretaker of a hobby ranch and herd manager of their 75 shorthorns. At the sale yard I worked out back, sorting, and penning and loading the livestock. I helped my husband with all the vaccinations and doctoring, along with all the bookkeeping and livestock records. While working on the little hobby ranch, I did all the yard maintenance, planted a heck of a garden, managed the small herd of shorthorns, along with irrigation. I have knowledge and experience not only with cattle, but sheep, and goats. I have grown in my knowledge of genetics and am always interested and thriving to learn more. Together we are one heck of a team, playing off each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

Our little family is honest, hardworking, non smoking and drinking, no nonsense. We are a great asset, and will treat your ranch as if it was our own, striving for the best possible outcome for everyone. We are happy to visit and dive deeper into our background, if we sound like a fit for your ranch. Thank you for your time and consideration, the Doyle Family.

On a side note, my husband had some knee work done in May, repairing his ACL. He will not be fully released to work until August. We do not want to commit to you without your knowledge of his knee and the couple months of healing. Honesty is a big kicker for us, we give it and we expect it in return, we are very easy to get along with and have a high understanding of life and the curve balls it throws at you. We are happy to talk more on the subject and we have the extra time to travel and meet with anyone interested! Thank you again.
