We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced farm helper / ranch hand. Must have experience with cattle (able to identify sick cattle, signs of calving, etc.), cattle feeding, feedlots, fencing, haying and farm equipment as well as heavy equipment, manure handling equipment, etc. Mechanical skills are also a must as we take care of our own equipment. Welding experience is a plus. We move cattle on horseback and at times, use a side-by-side or four-wheeler. Experience around horses would be ideal. We believe in a drug-free environment and as such, require a drug test for employment as well as a background check. Reliable, insured transportation and a valid driver’s license are also a must. Many times, you’ll be using your own vehicle for farm work - and as such, will be compensated accordingly. We raise registered full-blood Akaushi and commercial Angus cattle from cow/calf to feedlot to supply our own meat store in Joplin, Missouri. We have satellite locations in Jasper, Neosho, Sallisaw, Oklahoma and Eureka, Kansas where cattle are also pastured and worked. Occasionally you’ll join our crew when it’s time to tend to the herd in those locations. Our cattle are free of antibiotics and hormones, and fed a natural diet of grass and grain. We are a hard working, family-oriented operation that believes this is more than just a job - it is our lifestyle! Our ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who is able to work in all weather conditions. You should be able to work well with others as well as independently. We’d describe our current employees as passionate, reliable, hard-working, dedicated... experienced and knowledgeable - you should be, too! The health and well-being of our herd always comes first - however there are always projects that need attending to as well. We are visionaries and have exciting plans for the future of this operation. Our new hire will report to the Ranch Manager and at times, assist the Herd Manager. Pay is commensurate with experience.
