Alvin is a 6yr old, 15.2hh, 1300#, AQHA registered, gelding. He is your real life golden boy that will check all of your boxes. He has the looks, the handle, the personality, the breeding, and all of the experience! Alvin will fit most anyone whether you’re looking for your next trail partner, a dependable mount to take to work, or are just wanting a gentle, good looking gelding to enjoy riding and to do it all on! To top it all off he goes back to some of the greats like Skipper W, King, Three Bars, Colonel Freckles, and MORE.

Alvin was raised by his breeders until he was 2yrs old then was with the same family for nearly four years. In those years, he was the go to for packing family and friends down the trail and the go to for ranch work. Alvin knows what it takes to be a ranch horse and he has never disappointed no matter the task; doctoring, sorting, branding, shipping, as well as being the horse used to start colts. After coming to Texas, Alvin continued to be used as a ranch horse as well as being a dependable mount for everyone that’s climbed aboard and for anything that is needed. He is always up to the task at hand and is the same all the time. Whether you ride him everyday or let him sit for months, he will ride off without hesitation or any silly business.

Alvin’s handle is very straightforward with user friendly buttons. He picks up both leads, has an easy “whoa”, side passes both directions, and a solid turn around. He will ride on a loose rein and neck rein around for you, or if you’re more comfortable riding two handed he is just fine with being rode that way as well. Alvin is FANTASTIC to ride outside and out on the trails. He will go wherever asked without hesitation, is very sure footed no matter the terrain, and absolutely loves water. Alvin would be a great candidate to take to Trail Competitions as no obstacle, natural or man made, makes him blink an eye. Even though he has been ridden outside most of his life, Alvin will ride just as well in an arena and has been used to string fresh steers in the team roping pen. If you’d like to take him to town, no worries there as he’s great with crowds and commotion too. Alvin carries a flag with ease and would be an ABSOLUTE EYE CATCHER as a flag horse in the grand entries at the summer rodeos.

On the ground, he has great manners just as you’d expect one to have. He will stand tied quietly to be groomed, bathed, saddled and bridled. Alvin will also stand like a gentleman for mounting and dismounting whether you get on from the ground or from a mounting block. He is wonderful for the farrier, and loads/unloads without any issues. Alvin is not buddy sour, has no bad habits or vices, is not spooky, and has no previous injuries or history of illness. He is 100% sound, requires no special care, and is UTD on everything.
