This pony has a very inquisitive personality, he loves his people, craves the attention and is always so kind. He is a pleasure to handle and have in the barn. Sonny also has those wonderful ranch horse ground manners that are impeccable. Sonny’s main riders have been Kyler (6yrs old) and Saylor (4 yrs old). He’s carried them through Jr Rodeos, parades, trail rides, and more. He has done all the events barrels, poles, goats, and breakaway. Sonny has a fantastic amount of handle and is suitable for the very beginners on up to the kiddos wanting to learn to rope and go to the play days. He’s been a very forgiving lesson horse over the years as well. Sonny has also been used in the feed yard to ship on. He is absolutely broke enough to do any job there is! His looks and his training are as old fashion as it gets. They don’t make them like this anymore! Sonny has that roll your hand over his neck type neck rein, a great stop and lopes off both directions with ease for even the most novice of riders. He’s the kind you can swing up on without a saddle or bridle and go anywhere you want! Sonny’s trot and lope are smooth and easy to sit. He will go absolutely anywhere you point him. He crosses water and obstacles confidently. He’s been used in the grand entry at some summer rodeos as well. Lights, trains, fireworks, flags, tarps, machinery, traffic, none of it ever bothers him.
