Description:
If you have been looking for a good looking, stout horse that is slow and steady, very quiet, and never gets excited, then Brick may be the horse for you. He is a well built 10 year old sorrel gelding, 15 hh and close to 1200 pounds with a ton of bone, wide chest and a pretty head with a kind eye. GRADE. Brick was started as a 3 year old and then turned out to pasture when the ranch owner got sick. A couple years ago the ranch sold off all of the horses and at his new home he was used as both a pack horse and a riding horse up in the mountains, and also as a ranch horse when it wasn’t hunting season. Brick has the best ground manners and a very sweet personality. He is very well behaved for the shoer and vet, is easy to catch, stands quietly tied, and loves attention. He has been (lightly) used on the ranch for all phases of ranch work, including checking fence, pushing cattle, ponying colts, and has doctored and drug some to the fire. Brick doesn’t have a fancy handle, isn’t going to outrun a fast cow, and doesn’t want to be quick or catty, but he is steady, safe and reliable. He moves slow, wants to be slow, never goes any faster than you ask him to, and really has to be pushed to do more than trot. If left up to him he would never lope another day in his life, but he can be loped with some convincing. Brick rides quietly on a loose rein, has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, he is easy to catch, and tries hard to do what you ask of him. With a little finishing on his handle he would be just amazing. Brick is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He is good on both leads, and has a decent stop and back up. Brick can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Asking $6,500. He has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, and is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. He recently had shoes, teeth and coggins done so he is ready to go. Call Wendy for more information at 210-363-1883. Serious inquiries only, no tire kickers! Vet checks welcomed. Delivery anywhere is the US is available.
