Description:
Angus exhibits all the gentle, good natured qualities and looks that have made draft cross horses so popular. With his beautiful color, feathers, and conformation, he will get you noticed. He is a nice thick made horse, raw boned, takes up a lot of leg, has nice withers, and a back that is made to fit a saddle. We have owned Angus since he was a yearling, and he was started as a 2 year old. He had a solid foundation. When he turned 3, he went straight to riding after a year’s rest. He is highly trainable. He is soft in the mouth and developing a nice neck rein. He drops his hindquarters to stop and backs with ease. Angus is an excellent trail horse. He is curious and fearless. Angus has been around strollers, joggers, dogs, livestock, traffic, bridges, pogo sticks, and drive throughs. He swam the Cache la Poudre river when if was full of people tubing. He travels out alone or in a group. On the ranch, Angus has been used to rope and brand some late calves and has proven to be a team player by tracking up and holding the rope. He has trailed cattle in the mountains and on the prairie. He opens and closes gates. He is a gentle sort that is kind and respectful. He is good for the farrier and vet. Baths and fly spray are not an issue. He comes out of the herd, ready to be caught, no matter the weather, day or night. He is low to middle in the pecking order.
