Description:
I could write a whole book on how nice this horse is but let me save you some time and get right to the point… ANYONE can truly appreciate a gelding like Maverick. This 11 year old gelding is a sturdy, solid horse that is the perfect size to pack anyone around but is a total teddy bear and will take care of beginner riders, mom, dad, guests, and all of the kids in the family. He is an absolute confidence builder, from the second you meet him to the minute you swing your leg over him - he has a way of making you feel safe and comfortable. This sweet gelding truly cares for whoever is on his back and wants to do nothing but please. If you’re looking for a safe, reliable, tried and true family trail and/or ranch horse – that is 100% him! Maverick has been used on a working ranch throughout his life and has loads of experience driving cattle to water, packing fencing material, dragging calves to the fire at brandings, and gathering and shipping cattle. Over the last few years he has been used primarily as a trail horse all over the United States and some parts of Canada! He has seen the rocky terrain of Colorado, the lakes of east Texas, the woods and deep rivers of Montana, and the grassy plains of Nebraska. Maverick has been on tons of large organized trail rides and cattle drives but is also just as safe and dependable if you prefer to adventure out solo. I guarantee you’ll have a ball on him no matter what setting you find yourself in! When it comes to heading down the trail, Maverick is as good as gold! He is as sure footed as they come and maneuvers through any steep or unstable country, he enjoys the water and never hesitates to cross it, steps over trail crossings, will walk across bridges, doesn’t spook at any wildlife that may pop out unexpectedly and while I could go on for days about what makes him such an exceptional mount for any trail excursion, I’m sure you get the idea. Maverick has done overnight rides and handles everything from a long trailer ride, to having to ride for eight hours out of the day, just to stand tied all night and go out and do it all again and there won’t be one complaint. If the country scene is not what you are feeling that day no problem, Maverick loves to be the talk of the town. He’s just as much of a civilized member of society riding through the busy metropolis, not spooky and doesn’t get stirred up by any commotion that comes with the territory of riding into town. Take him through your favorite coffee joint’s drive-thru or go “window shop” at the closest store. You can tell this gelding is used to turning heads and loves all of the attention he gets but he doesn’t let it get to his head because he is cool as cucumber! He simply puts his ears forward and walks in whatever direction you point him in.He’s no nonsense and if you know the struggle of riding a horse that’s not nearly as solid as Maverick, you will more than appreciate what I am about to say. This fantastic boy pays NO mind to those pesky dogs that charge the fence and bark nonstop, or those petrifying pedestrians jump starting their new years resolutions and biking/going for a run. And you know that terrifying trash can that your neighbors set out at the end of their driveway? He’s not going to bat an eye. Ever. You don’t have to worry about heading out for a ride down the road and him spooking at the darn dumpster after he’s seen it every week for the past 6 months. He wholeheartedly does not care about things that seem to make other horses want to jump out of their skin. Maverick is a breeze to ride around in the arena as well. He’ll make the most novice rider look like they have been sitting in a saddle for years and give a nervous rider the confidence they need to want to continue learningand make it enjoyable for them. Don’t let his size fool you this big teddy bear goes at your pace. He will not push you to go any faster or slower than you ask him. Maverick has one of the smoothest lopes you could ask for and has a lot of very practical, fun to use buttons that don’t require a rocket scientist of 500 page manual to be able to learn and use. He can pick up a lope from a walk by just simply raising your hand and smooching to him, moves around by both leg cues and/or just a neck rein. He’s got one of those solid, stay between the reins, true neck reins on him. He transitions easily and has a nice steady stop and back up. This gelding will not disappoint when it comes to riding around and being broke but isn’t so reactive that he’ll instantly act if accidentally cued by his rider. He’s kind of like a mind reader if you ask me because I can’t begin to tell you how nice of a quality it is for a horse to be able to decipher between intentional and unintentional requests. He literally is the best of both worlds and can cater to any rider who crawls on him. And what’s even noteworthy about Maverick is whether you ride every day or once a year, you can saddle up and go without a worry in the world. NO BUCK, REAR, KICK, BOLT, or any other less than desirable tendencies. He will be the same broke horse you last rode. As I said earlier, I could go on and on about this literal unicorn of a horse but I would probably have to get a book contract started so let me try to wrap this up. Maverick is very easy to catch either in a stall or turned out. Gets along great with other geldings and mares. Has had an abundance of exposure to goats, dogs, alpacas, ponies, children, and of course cattle. A perfect gentleman to saddle, bridle, and will even walk up to any higher surface to help those short legged kids climb aboard with ease. Being such a pretty boy it makes sense he loves bath time and being pampered. Well manneredfor the farrier and vet, loads and hauls perfect and backs out of the trailer like a pro. Maverick stands 15.2 hands, he is big framed with lots bone substance, his feet are nice and big sized, has good legs, a strong back and a softeye. This horse is only for sale due to personal medical reasons that have unfortunately lead his family to financialhardship. He is absolutely adored and this decision was not made easily or taken lightly in the least bit. Maverick comes with a clean bill of health, current coggins, hasbeen dewormed, feet done and is current on all vaccinations as well. No history of major illness or injuries either. He’s had nothing but the best of care and will come will all of his current and past records that you can read through all the way back to his younger days but in addition to that, and just as equally as important… he will come to you with the sweetest personality and make you feel like you’re right at home when you’re on his back. He’s that horse you can just get on, let your hair down, forget all the world’s problems and not have a care in the world and actually enjoy your ride with. Maverick is ready for his next best friend and will undoubtedly charm his way into your heart from the moment you meet him. I’ll just go ahead and give you a heads up now: Maverick won’t waste anytime winning you over, and no sooner than he arrives will he be following you around like a puppy dog, and trying everything he can to get any ounce of your attention. He has a way of looking at you with his big, kind eyes and you just cant help but slip him a treat and give him a hug around the neck or a good belly scratch. Sweet Mr. Maverick is more than just a horse when you consider his larger than life personality paired along side his extensive resume and training. It’s no doubt that he’s one-in-a-millon and horses like this are undeniably HARD to find but his owners hope that through their misfoutune, someone else has the extraordinary opportunity to get the chance to own once-in-a-lifetime dream horse too.
