Dusty is a 17 year old grey gelding, 14.3 hh and stout and well built with a big hip and plenty of bone. Don’t let his age scare you, he is sound, clean legged, needs no maintenance and has the heart and energy level of a 5 year old. He is AQHA registered as “Little Doc Egger” #4599312. Dusty is very well bred with a pedigree full of NCHA Champions and money earners. He is a grandson of Smart Little Lena on the top side and a grandson of Doc’s Lynx on the bottom side. He was bought 3 years ago by a friend of ours, who used him to ride on the ranch and do some team sortings with. He has not been roped off of in years. Dusty is excellent in the sorting pen, he is so quick footed and catty, and he doesn’t get upset or hot. He has an excellent handle and stop, is good on both leads, will sidepass and work a gate. He has a very smooth trot and rocking horse lope, and has been taught to really move out in the pasture. Dusty is the type of horse that likes to have a job to do and can go all day long if you need him to. He has a ton of speed if you as him for it. Dusty is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. Dusty has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
