Description:
Work Scope: Seeking individual or couple to operate the livestock portion of a cattle/hay ranch in SE Oregon (Adel). Duties will involve all aspects of operating a 300 head cow-calf ranch, including a 1,000 head ’back-grounding’ feedlot used October to January when weaning calves. Duties will include record keeping for cattle inventories, feed consumption and measuring cattle performance. Additional incidental work will consist of equipment operation when helping the farm crew harvest hay during July/August.



Experience & Qualifications: Candidate must have min. 5 yrs comparable experience herding, processing, calving, weaning, feeding and providing healthcare for beef cattle. Good horsemanship skills are essential. Individual should have own saddle horses as some work activities are performed via horseback.



Compensation: Monthly salary + nice 3BR/2Ba house, utilities, work truck, beef & extras. Ideal situation for employee with family including elementary school age children as local school is within 1 mile proximity.
