Description:
BEAUTIFUL bay 2018 stallion ready to start. Dusm Raylan Givens aka Raylan was named from the TV series Justified. Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens is a 19th-century style lawman in 21st-century Kentucky. He is a quirky, dedicated marshal who, having committed a justified killing in Florida (he shot a mob hit man who had just drawn a gun on him with intent to kill, although Raylan was hoping he would draw his weapon to give him an excuse to shoot him), has been re-assigned to his hometown in Kentucky. The horse Raylan has a laid back disposition and is easy to handle and easy on the eyes. He will stand tied, can pick up feet, can catch him and handle him. He has NOT been started under saddle yet and is READY NOW. He has not been worked in round pen yet either and will leave that to the trainer.

Raylan’s dam was broke to ride, but due to injury never used. She is by the owner’s late stallion, Joes Okie Blue, who passed away last summer at age 23. He was a very PROVEN sire producing many rope, ranch and barrel prospects. Most of his offspring have excelled in roping. Raylan’s very bottom consists of Bobby Sox Playboy who became a very successful sire being a 6x AQHA All Around Champion and having points and earnings in Working Cow Horse, Tie Down Roping, Heading, Heeling, Halter and Reining. Off of Raylan’s papers are 2 great Pitzer stallions, Watch Joe Jack and Joe Jack Honey Bar.

Raylan’s sire is Captain Barbosa owned by Silver Spurs Equine and they have this to say about him. "Captain Barbossa has won and placed in several rookie pro classes. The full brother to Roosters Wrangler, standing at a majestic 15.2 hands Captain Barbossa (“Jack”) was purchased by Silver Spurs and became our #1 prospect for the 2008 NRHA Futurity. Unfortunately a freak accident in the shower stall took out his right eye. We took Jack to the Futurity anyway but his turns and rollbacks on his blind side were just too choppy and he did not make it past the first go. Our assistant trainer took Jack over and has worked with him over the years and he did well in the Rookie Professional and Limited Open Classes. His NRHA earnings are $825. Here is a horse that was destined for greatness but because of injury never had the chance.
