Ranch Jobs: Wanted - Assistant Resident Ranch Manager - California SOLD #120007 Posted by: dbardessono57 [see other ads by this poster] City: Napa [see other ads in this city] State: California [see other ads in this state] Job Title: Assistand Resident Ranch Manager Employer: Confidential Salary: TBD Room & Board: Provided Phone #: (707) 843-6458 click to view fullsize image Description: Job Description Duties/Responsibilities: Through a close working relationship with the Ranch Manager, assist with the following activities: • Fence building and maintenance (electric and conventional). • Heavy and light equipment operation and maintenance. • Build new water pipelines and maintain existing pipelines. • Build, maintain, and improve road and culvert infrastructure. • Caring for the wellbeing of all livestock (horses, cattle, sheep, goats). • Rotating animals through pastures with minimal stress. • Monitoring pastures for optimum usage with holistic grazing concepts. • Basic welding to maintain and improve ranch gates, fences and equipment. • Lawn, lawn irrigation, and landscaping maintenance. • Noxious weed control along gravel roads, around buildings, corrals and some pastures. • Pasture rejuvenation and re-seeding. • Road grading, maintenance, gravel hauling. • Chain saw operation to clear limbs, windfalls and collect winter wood supply. • Stock pond maintenance including spillway and dam repair if needed. • Water system maintenance including pipes, troughs, tanks and pumps. • Maintain Ranch HQ lawns, barnyards, and shops to a high level of cleanliness/tidiness. • Perform general maintenance in and on all buildings. • Maintenance and improvement of recreational features, i.e., campsites, food plots, habitat improvement projects. • Provide recreational enjoyment opportunities for the ownership and their families/friends. • Other duties as assigned. Preferable Skills: • 2-4 yr. College Degree in Ag. Business, Animal Husbandry, Ag. Business and Management, Agricultural Operations, Farm and Ranch Management. Necessary skills: • Exceptional communication (both Verbal and Writing) and interpersonal relationship abilities. • Professional attitude along with a good sense of humor. • Horsemanship skills and husbandry. • Experience caring for cattle using low stress handling techniques. • Experience with other livestock such as sheep or goats preferred. • Ability to spot sick or distressed livestock and treat effectively. • Safe ATV skills. • Carpentry, light mechanical, electrical, welding, plumbing, & painting abilities. • Ability to safely and skillfully operate all manner of light and heavy equipment including chainsaw, bulldozer, tractor, and related implements. • Must enjoy laboring equally on horseback, on foot, or on equipment. • Ability to independently look for work when assignments are completed. • Ability to work effectively in all weather conditions.
