If you have been searching for that perfect kids, family or beginner friendly horse, then take a look at Gunner. He is one of the best kid horses we have ever had, and we have found absolutely nothing that scares him or spooks him. Gunner is an 18 year old palomino gelding, 15 hh, nicely buily with a good hip, pretty head and neck with a kind eye, and a long mane that is to die for. Don’t let his age scare you, he has always had the best of care and is healthy and sound with no maintenance needed. Gunner has been ridden by every age and experience level rider, gentle enough for the youngest ones to ride but also pretty fancy broke and nice enough for an experienced rider to really have fun on. He has done just about everything there is to do. Gunner started out as a ranch horse, has been a trail horse, has done barrels and poles at playdays, has done parades, carried a flag, and has even been a therapy horse. He is 100% gentle with absolutely no bucking, rearing, taking off, or kicking. Gunner is the type of horse you can catch out in the pasture and hop on without worrying about getting bucked off, even if you haven’t ridden him in months. He has an excellent neck rein, stops easily, will sidepass and work a gate. Gunner has been roped off of in the pasture and worked cattle, although it has been a while since he’s been roped off of. He has also had some reining training in the past and will bridle up, work off your leg, bend and flex and everything else a broke horse should do. Gunner is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He rides just as quiet in a new place as he does at home. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. Gunner has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
