Description:
Cowhand sought to care for 1200 cows in Western Nevada. Mostly desert allotments with some cows on meadows. A successful employee will receive cattle safely and accurately record numbers, strategically place salt for optimal range utilization, place cattle on range according to grazing plan, identify and administer veterinary care to sick cattle, gather all cattle off allotments by the required time, keep range free of neighbor cattle, accurately and efficiently load cattle on trucks, build on positive relationships with neighbors, landlords, and agency personnel, maintain perimeter and interior fences to keep cattle straight, and rehabilitate fire damaged holding field fence to facilitate efficient fall gather. A successful employee would possess the skills and experience to achieve those goals. (horsemanship, roping, fencing, veterinary care)



Requires good driving record and ability to lift 75 lbs.



Housing available-Camp Trailer at Main Ranch. Main ranch is 25 miles (5 miles dirt road, 3 miles gravel, 17 paved) from good size town in the Reno Area with full amenities. The company can provide horses if needed, outside horses OK.



Salary dependent on experience and use of housing option.
