He is as SOLID as they possibly come. No matter the situation, commotion, or rider he is completely dependable, safe, and quiet. “Alvin” is quite literally the horse you spend years, if not a lifetime trying to find, and the kind of horse people don’t let go of easily. He really is just. that. special. Whether you’re looking for a horse to take care of your kids and teach them to ride that will put up with their shenanigans and cart them around all day or something broke and dependable for yourself - this is your guy! “Alvin” is fantastic both in the arena and out on the trail. He was originally started and shown in the reined cow horse, giving him the perfect foundation that he has clearly carried on throughout his life and makes him the fun, easy going, well broke gelding you see today. Has a good solid stop, turns around both ways, will lope right off if you ask him but will also settle right down, walk around on a loose rein, and is so quiet and easy you could stick Ray Charles on his back (we know this for fact, we filmed most of his video blindfolded just to prove how easy this gelding really is). You can even take his bridle off and ride around, he is THAT broke. He’s been used on the ranch as well; will sort pairs, gather, brand, pack fencing supplies, side pass up to any and every gate you need him to. Out on the trail he makes it so pleasurable and easy. ”Alvin” just puts his head down and goes right where you point him. No hesitation crossing water, riding next to traffic, up and down hills or drop offs, etc. He’s not even phased by those pesky neighborhood dogs that charge the fence barking and carrying on. On the ground he is just as gentle - he has a sweet, charming personality that is captivating to everyone around him but is still very respectful of your space and what you ask of him. I He stands to be groomed, bathed, clipped, saddled, mounted, etc. Even uses a mounting block if needed. Gets along with all of the other horses in the pasture, he really just wants to be friends with everyone — both horse and human kind. “Alvin” is 14 years old, and don’t let that stop you, he has lots of years left to help you on the ranch, teach your young ones to ride, or cruise down every trail you can find. He stands 14.2 hands, is sound, sane, healthy and in great shape. Solid feet and clean legs; no scars, lumps or bumps. He doesn’t require any maintenance or special feed, he is an extremely easy keeper. Good horses truly do impact the lives of those around them, and this gelding is going to be sure to do that.
