Description:
If you are looking for a gentle gelding to use on the ranch or ride on trails, then take a look at Comet. He is broke the way a ranch horse should be, and is gentle enough enough to fit a lot of people. He is very personable and loves attention. Comet is just as happy putting in a days work as he is taking a leisurely stroll down the trails. Comet is a 15 year old sorrel gelding, GRADE, 15.2hh and nicely built with plenty of chrome. Comet has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off. He spent the majority of his life on a ranch out in West Texas, where he was used for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, and checking fence. He is good on the end of a rope, never getting excited or upset when working cattle. Comet is laid back and quiet, yet responsive, and will adjust himself to the level of his rider. He rides quietly on a loose rein, and knows how to travel out. Comet is nicely broke, with a good one handed neck rein and a good stop. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He is good on both leads, will sidepass, and work a gate. Comet can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
