Description:
“Skip” is a 2003 chestnut overo paint. He’s as gentle as they come and his life calling is to be a kid horse or quiet trail horse. He stands at roughly 15hh and about 1100lbs, I will get a definite height and weight on him this week. Both my husband and I have made circles gathering cows on him in steep, rocky country and he does well. I’ve roped the Smarty around the arena and out of a box. I broke my arm in July and haven’t been riding much since so our ranch kids have been using him. He has more whoa than go and doesn’t like to be pushed through it but our confident kids can handle him fine. If your kid knows how to ride or there’s a confident beginner on him, you can do anything on this horse. A complete beginner or child would be fine putting around on him also. He doesn’t do anything dangerous. He has been ridden English, western, double, triple, and bareback. Kids have slid off his butt, kicked him in the flanks trying to get up on him, stood up on him, practiced trick riding on him, etc.. I haven’t shot off of him but I believe he’d make a good mounted shooting horse with some practice. He’s been to rodeos and play days where kids ages 6-10 rode him solo through the events and kids from ages 2-7 did leadline on him. He does have some old scarring on a hind leg but he’s completely sound. He’s good to trailer, tie, shoe, bathe, and has been good with basically everything I have thrown his way. This horse has never been used hard so he will be a great addition to someone’s family for many years to come.



He is located in Fields, OR but we travel to Boise, Bend, and Reno often and could work something out to haul him there after a deposit is paid. Please email, text, or call and leave a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
