If you want a horse that is well broke and flashy, that you can use on the ranch or ride trails on, then take a look at Mesquite. He is a really cute grey gelding, short and stout and only 14.2 hh, with dapples and a black mane and tail. Mesquite is 12 years old, young enough that he has plenty of years left but old enough that he doesn’t have any foolishness in him. No buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, just a solid, honest using horse. He sells as GRADE and we do not know how he is bred. Mesquite has been used on the ranch for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, and checking fence. He is a great ranch horse but would be just as happy being a trail horse too. He has a good handle and stop, will sidepass, and work a gate. Mesquite is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He rides quietly on a loose rein and will not go any faster than you ask him to. He has a smooth trot and nice rocking horse lope, and a light mouth. Mesquite is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. He has good ground manners, stands quietly tied, and is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. He has no soundness issues or health problems. Asking $4000.
