If you are looking for a stout, well built gelding to pack you around the ranch or on trails, then take a look at Hickory. He is an 11 year old cremello gelding with two blue eyes and a long beautiful mane. Hickory is 14.2hh and stout enough to carry a big man, but low to the ground and easy to get on and off of. He is AQHA registered as “HickorysBlueEyedBaby” #5160300. He is well bred and out of old foundation lines, tracing back to Cutter Bill on the top side and Docs Hickory on the bottom side. Hickory recently rode in the grand entry every night at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, and did a couple week long rides before the rodeo as well. He is an excellent trail horse, and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. Hickory has very smooth gaits that are easy to sit to, making him the perfect trail horse for those long rides. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He has a good stop and back up, with a light mouth. Hickory is gentle and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, but he could use a little work on his ground manners. He can be ridden by himself or with a large group of horses with no problem. He will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and is not bothered by it. Hickory stands quietly tied, and is easy to catch, load, haul, and shoe. $3500.
