Assistant trainer wanted: Janssen Performance Horses, is a busy cutting horse training and breeding program, led by NCHA professional trainer Bob Janssen. We start all of our personal (10-15 a year by horses like Hottish, Metallic Rebel, NRR Cat King Cole, Hashtags, Sanmann, etc) and client 2-year-olds in house, and have a robust limited aged event program as well as service weekend show clients. We travel extensively west of the Mississippi to shows. We are looking for someone long term that has the drive, desire and commitment to pursue a training career. Loping/choring/stall cleaning will be part of the job, but the right candidate wants more out the industry than just that. The right person will grow into having opportunities to show, start colts and train horses under Bob’s direction. Must be detail oriented, must be willing to take direction and be a part of a program/team. Exceptional care standards and a horse and customer first attitude is required. We are looking for someone gritty, goal oriented and fun! People skills are as important as horse skills. This is not an entry level position, but one for the person looking for the track to become a professional Horseman/woman. Salary + nice housing (private bedroom, but shared with other members of our team). Located in Minnesota, we have heated indoor facilities and well appointed outdoor facilities.
