Description:
Colt is a stout 12 year old lineback dun gelding, 15.2hh with a thick mane and tail, four black feet and a pretty head with a kind eye. He came off of a ranch out in West Texas, where he had been for most of his life. He sells as grade and we do not know how he is bred. He has been used for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, ponying colts and dragging calves. Colt is really well broke with an excellent handle and stop, and has been taught to really travel out. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Colt is an excellent ranch horse but would make a really nice pleasure horse as well, or take him to the arena and make a performance horse out of him. He is athletic and willing and could do anything you ask of him. Colt is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you ask him to. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, will happily lead or follow, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. Colt has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Colt is a little touchy around his face but the more we work with him, the better he gets. He would be best suited to an intermediate or better rider, as he likes to travel out. He is good for the shoer, stands quietly tied, and is easy to load and haul. Asking $4000.
