Description:
This is a used handmade floating port bit made by long time bit and spur maker Keith Welling from Crawford, Nebraska. It is marked KW inside both cheek pieces. Keith has been building bits since the 1960’s and his bits are popular with working cowboys. Keith is listed in Old Cowboy Saddles & Spurs by Gretchen and Mike Graham. The bit is steel with a blued finish and is mounted with a nickel silver concho and inlaid with engraved nickel silver stripes. There are two copper rings on the port. The bit does not show wear at the center rings so don’t think it was used much. There is some rust build up on the steel. This would be a nice bit to use.

Measurements: Cheek Pieces 6 ⅞”, Mouth (between collars) 5”, Port Height 1 ¾”, Bit Weight 13.5 ounces
