Salary: 2000/month Room & Board: yes Phone #: 307-267-0038 click to view fullsize image Description: We are VERY remote cow/calf operation. Run on 200,000 acres central Wyoming. Casper is the closest town which is 80 miles 22 of which is dirt road. We can be snowed in for extended periods during the winter. You need to have some kind of 4 wheel drive vehicle. A car and sometimes two wheel drive truck can not travel the 22 miles of unmaintained dirt road in winter with snow and spring muddy roads. This is a ranch job, not a cowboy job, yes we brand over 4,000 calves, between ours and neighbors, during May/June and there is horseback riding BUT with the amount of acres and cows comes that much fence, equipment, putting out mineral etc. So you better like fencing. Its rough country and equipment breaks down a lot, We do lots of changing tires and working on machinery. We take pride in the place and keep things picked up and clean. There are times because of the size of the place we do use motorcycles but majority of the time horseback. We are putting in lots of new wells and tanks in the next two years. There is also maintenance and upkeep on the houses. So there is a variety of things to do. The cows winter at the other end of the place but we do help with feeding and breaking ice on the river in the winter. We don’t mind training some aspects. You will learn a huge variety of skills while here and if willing to learn will become a jack of all trades. This is a highly physical job (I can’t stress this enough) Working LOTS of hours. While we typically work 6 days a week and take turns with morning and evening chores on Sundays there may be a few days (branding and shipping) that we run into time constraints and work Sundays. You will be working with the owner and one hired hand that has been with us for a long period an this end of the ranch. They are high drive individuals that actually love to work and take pride in doing the job right the first time. There are also three people at the main headquarters. No haying or farming There is no schools remotely close and there is no place close for wives to work. We have sketchy phone service, no landlines for internet. If you want internet you have to go with satelite and it is SLOW. Families are welcome to go whenever possible for fencing, putting out mineral, branding, etc. Couples must be married while we are not near perfect we are Christian. We provide a small 3 bedroom 1 bath house. It is clean but old house. We remodeled most of it 6 years ago. Still needs windows. It has small fenced yard that ajoins the yard of the other hired hand. Salary $2000/month we pay utilites you have to provide phones/internet. Beef Can bring up to 4 horses at this time. We provide wormer, vaccines, feed (unless special). They are on pasture in the summer and we feed hay on pasture in winter Pets are allowed. Dogs need to under control.
