Silvies Valley Ranch is located in eastern Oregon between Burns and John Day. The ranch is covered in pine forests, wild mountain meadows, and an abundance of wild critters! This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves livestock, enjoys working with a great team of professionals and wants a long term career with opportunities to learn and grow! In addition to a very completive salary we offer a good benefit package which includes on-ranch housing (one or possibly two bedroom condos), a ranch vehicle, organic grass-fed beef, free golf, and a 401k. Horsemanship and roping skills are a necessity but this not a full-time riding job and you must be willing to run equipment feeding cows in the winter and building fence in the spring (skills in fence repair are important since we have wild elk). Must be a team player. Your Benefits Health Insurance for You and Your Family - Silvies believes that good health and medical care are very important to families and quality of life. All permanent full time team members will be eligible to enroll in the Silvies health insurance plan after having worked 90 days from date of hire. Life Insurance – For all Silvies permanent full time team members we provide a $50,000 life insurance policy at no cost to you. In the event of your passing this benefit will be paid out to the beneficiaries of your choice. Saving for Retirement - Silvies 401(k) plan is intended to give our team members the opportunity to set aside pre-tax income that will grow over the long term for their eventual retirement. Participation in the program is entirely optional although we will we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity which could help provide for you and your families long term financial security. Silvies matches your contribution at 50% rate up to 6% of your pay Paid Time Off – At Silvies we understand that life happens and provide sick time or paid time off to our team members. Once you are part of the Silvies team, you begin to accrue 1.3 hours of paid time for every 40 hours worked. You can begin using sick time once accrued, and permeant full time team members can begin using accrued PTO for vacation, continuing education, illness, or other purposes after six months.
