If you have been looking for a safe all around family horse that won’t break the bank, then take a look at Scarlet. She is a beautiful 15 year old sorrel mare who has done a little bit of everything in her lifetime. She is 15.1hh and very well built, with a ton of bone and a big foot, a good hip with dapples, and a pretty head with a kind eye. Scarlet is gentle and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off. She rides quietly on a loose rein and travels out well in the pasture, and is responsive to her riders aids with plenty of speed when asked for it. Scarlet has spent a large part of her life being used on the ranch for all phases of ranch work, including roping, gathering, and doctoring cattle in the pasture, sorting pairs and dragging calves to the fire. She has also been taken to playdays, carried the flag in drill practices, and has been ridden extensively on trails. Scarlet is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. She is very well broke, with a good one handed neck rein, a ground covering trot and lope, and will sidepass and work a gate. She can be ridden by herself or with other horses, will happily lead or follow, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. She has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. She has an old cut on her left front leg that is purely cosmetic and does not affect her soundness. She also has a small spot in her right eye from an old injury but can still see out of that eye.
