We are a downhome, country family. I was raised to be honest and trustworthy with high Christian values and have never drank, smoked, used tobacco or done drugs. I grew up around dairy cattle and row crop farming, but in my teenage years went into the beef business. I started fattening cattle on a feedlot, then became a licensed order buyer and also did back grounding of my own cattle while running 100+ head of mama cows. I managed a stockyard for 11 years and did a lot of custom hauling. I consider myself more of a cattleman than a cowboy, even though I do enjoy a side of the western life. I’ve had a lot of experience in herd health, doctoring and preconditioning of salebarn cattle, making hay, buying, selling and hauling hay, and some row crop farming. I have operated a lot of farm machinery and excavation equipment and like repairing my own farm machinery, welding, torching, etc. I’ve had a fair bit of experience in construction and am presently in the fencing business with just a few cattle right now. I do not have my CDL, but am willing to get it if needed. I am a hard worker, self motivated, work well by myself or with others, and am very particular. It is not working out for me to buy my family’s farm, feedlot and backgrounding facility that I once rented, but my first love is buying, selling or anything to do with the beef cattle industry. I am looking for a full time, long term opportunity on a cattle ranch/farm or a feedlot/backgrounding lot. We are currently living in Ohio, but are willing to move.
