Description:
IMMEDIATE opening for a full-time Cowboy/Ranch Hand for long term position. Family operation owned by well known horseman and clinician. We are located in western Utah, just 35-40 minutes west of Salt Lake City. We are looking for someone who loves the ranching lifestyle and wants to make a career here. We raise and run one of the largest registered Quarter Horse herds in the western United States, as well as a commercial cow /calf operation. Our range consists of a lot of steep mountain terrain. We are want someone who is family oriented and is looking to make their long term home here and isn’t afraid to “Ride for the Brand” as they say.

MUST have extensive colt starting and Horsemanship experience, not just cattle experience . Must be comfortable riding young horses while checking, doctoring, moving cattle, etc. No ATV’s used. Low stress cattle handling techniques. Fence repair and maintenance when needed. Must have valid driver’s license and be able to drive manual trans ranch truck with gooseneck trailers for work. Check Water and break ice. Must be able to rope. Farrier skills a huge plus. Other duties as assigned. No haying or farming.

We are looking for someone that isn’t afraid of long hours and working 5-6 days a week most of the year must be honest, trustworthy, hardworking, positive attitude, must be able to work well alone or with others. Owner travels often doing clinics, so we need someone who is a self starter and is able to get the job done and keep the ranch running smoothly when we are out of town. Ability to communicate with the ranch owners and other employees clearly and with respect is essential. Will do background check. No Drug or Alcohol abuse. Non-Smoker

Wage DOE and abilities.

We have a large, newly remodeled 3 bed room apartment , suitable for a small family or a brand new bunkhouse/apartment for a single male. Both are located inside of our indoor riding. Utilities paid. We are located in a smaller community but still close to very good schools and town. Also a possibility of running some of your own cattle or horses.
