Description:
Our family owned and operated cattle ranch has an opening for a full time ranch hand. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Cattle Work (calving (first-calf heifers and cows), feeding, moving, doctoring, etc., Flood Irrigating, Fencing Repair/Maintenance, Haying (swathing, raking, round baling, hauling, stacking), Basic Mechanical Tasks (light mechanical and welding), Maintaining Ranch Properties and Improvements, Operating and Maintaining Equipment (tractors, backhoe, round baler, feeder). All cattle work is done horseback. You need your own tack and no more than 3 horses, preferably geldings. You need to be proficient at roping cattle outside of a pen. We have modern tractors and need someone who is a careful operator. The ideal candidate would be experienced in all aspects of ranching, is a self-starter that can work well alone or with others, and is highly observant and able to notice small problems and be proactive enough to tend to them before they become big problems. We provide a pickup for ranch duties only. We cannot hire people with a DUI or multiple driving violations. Wages will depend on experience. Housing is provided.
