Description:
High elevation, medium-sized, Colorado Mountain Ranch is looking for a general ranch hand and mechanic. This is not a cowboy position (we use 4 wheelers and handling equipment) or a farming position. We have a small to medium size cowherd but our primary focus is raising, harvesting and delivering premium grass Horse Hay from our irrigated Meadows. Your duties on an annual basis would include the following when in season: irrigating, operating hay machinery, maintaining ranch equipment and machinery, repairing equipment and machinery as needed, feeding cattle, maintaining fence, building and facility maintenance, delivering hay. All of these tasks are shared with the ranch owner/operator. Skills required: welding (stick and MIG), mechanical know how and problem solving of gasoline, diesel, hydraulic and electrical systems, farm equipment operation (front end loader, Bale wagon, disk mower conditioner, Rake and Tedder, etc.), experience with gentle livestock handling, building maintenance.
