The ranch consists of 20,000 deeded acres and runs 1,300 cows. We run mostly black and black white face cows and cross with Charolais bulls. We don’t sell our calves, but run them through our feedlot until they reach approximately 850 pounds. Winners of the 2006 National Environmental Stewardship Award we strive to continue improving our natural resources and being innovative ranchers. Position Summary: Fox Creek headquarters needs someone to manage cattle, time, labor, and resources given by supervising board. Consisting of 500-600 cow/calf pairs, 4 center pivots systems, summer intensive rotational grazing on 2 of the pivot systems. Manage of grasses for continual winter grazing. Responsibilities: • Manage rangeland resources for long-term productivity. Farming maybe needed to keep rotational grazing pastures and hay ground to its fullest capacity. • Maintain present ranch infrastructure. This includes: 4 center pivots, 600 head of cows with calves, calving 600 head of cows, bull feeding/care. The cows will spend most of the summer on intensive rotational grazing pastures. • Permanent electric fence, wire fence, center pivot, and general ranch equipment maintenance. • Vaccination program and mineral program have been established ranch wide, so will require keeping up with those protocols. Monitoring overall herd health. • Direct, coach and train 1 employee to help accomplish Fox Creek headquarters goals. Other Duties: Help out the rest of the ranch with processing cattle, A-Iing, haying, flood irrigation, other team work improvement projects.
