Christian couple seeking cowboy/horse trainer that can rope on a competitive level, carpenter, mechanic, operate machinery, hay, no farming, fencing, extensive cattle work, etc. etc. everything that has to be done on a 22000 acre 1350 head ranch that has been family owned and operated since 1885. If you are the type that likes to do different things every day, takes pride in your work, is an accountable, team player that has a can do and will do anything attitude, we may have a job that you will love. We ranch in the Nebraska Sandhills, which is one of the biggest cattle ranching areas in the world. We trade branding help with the surrounding neighbors in the spring branding approximately 10,000 head of baby calves, all branded cowboy style, roped and drug to the fire. We have two irrigated alfalfa circles that we hay three times a year, we hire farmers to plant, weed and fertilize these circles, and we put up several meadows with high quality machinery. We are in the process of building an indoor riding arena that will be 100 X 220 feet with an apartment and office in it. This is going to be expensive and we need someone that can help us make valuable performance/ranch horses. We are planning on putting a great deal of time into horse training, especially during cold winter afternoons. We also do not use four wheelers to move cattle or work cattle. So you must enjoy riding a horse, and be gentle with horses. This doesn’t mean you have to be a bunny hugger; you just have to agree that horses react more than they reason. We also have a mule deer and bison hunting business and we take in hunters from all across the nation, offering a fully guided hunt. A good school is 22 miles away and groceries are 54 miles. This is a great place to raise kids and I enjoy letting kids help especially horseback. We have 150 recipient cows that start calving March 10,330 first calf heifers that start calving April 1 and 800 cows which start calving April 7. I would be hiring you as an investment in hope that you will create for me more profit and more free time. Your pay would be based on your value. There is opportunity here to build your own herd as many of our hands already have. As the foreman of this ranch I appreciate honesty, hard work, good communication skills, jobs done to set specs, family time, and a man who works the same no matter what the boss is or isn’t doing. I don’t need any alcoholics, gas thieves, ranch pickup runaways, arguers, packs of dogs, herds of horses, or men that head for town when I’m gone, and we would prefer a couple that is married or a single man.
