Job Description: We are a family owned/operated commercial cow/calf/yearling ranch operation in Boulder, Wyoming. We are looking for a reliable, honest, positive, and a motivated self-starting ranch hand. Skills needed for position are calving heifers/cows, maintaining and using haying equipment, irrigating, fencing and horseback riding. Housing provided with competitive wages. The house is a large ranch house that could accommodate a family. The ranch is 30 minutes from Pinedale, WY. A few horses and dogs are ok. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, clean record. General ranch operation: approx. 500 mother cows/400 yearlings. Calving season is late-March through May using both 4-wheeler and horseback. We have many miles of fence maintenance on BLM and Forest Service permits. These areas also require steady horseback riding to manage cattle in late spring and early summer. We need someone experienced in irrigation (flood and center pivot) along with summer haying, approx. 2000 tons grass hay. Haying requires good people skills to manage seasonal workers. Fall riding and cattle work is September -November. Winter time requires feeding cattle with tractors/equipment, a somewhat slower time of year with lots of snow and cold weather. Our ranch is expanding and we need someone who can expand with us.
