I am looking for a position which provides housing preferably. I am married and have a young son, I am hardworking, a self starter and highly motivated. Ideally, I would like to find a position where I can invest in the business and grow a small herd of my own, or eventually move into a management position. I am most interested in a ranch where most of the cattle work is done from horseback, however a riding position is not required. I grew up on a large hay farm in New Jersey, where I learned how to operate tractors and farm machinery and put in hay. I also worked in the summers on my grandfather’s beef farm. During college, I worked as a retail and Security manager, and have spent ten years as an investigator. These positions allowed me to hone my supervisory abilities, management skills, attention to detail, and work largely self supervised. I am hard working, and when I do a job, I take pride in it, regardless of the task. I have no criminal record, and am a non smoker. For the past 3 years, I have owned and operated a mid sized horse farm and specialty feed/farm supply business. My agricultural skills include but are not limited to the following: livestock feeding/care, haying, equipment/tractor operation, horseback riding, fence installation/mending, general property maintenance, general farm labor. I also can operate straight trucks up to 26’ long and have experience hauling livestock with both gooseneck and bumper pull trailers. I have worked cattle on horseback, can operate ATV’s, and am willing to obtain a CDL if necessary. I have started horses (green broke). My wife and I have three horses currently, two have been started on cattle, and I am willing to purchase additional working horses if necessary. We are relocating to the west because we are looking for a better environment in which to raise our son (6 months old). I am very interested in a long term opportunity with the possibility of an eventual management position, or the ability to buy a partnership or maybe run a few cows of my own.
